It may seem odd, but the Suffolk Local
History Council has no expertise in family history, and is not able to help directly
with family history queries. However, we
do know some people who can!

If you need help in researching your family history
we would suggest that you first look on our Links
page under the heading Family History.

There you will find a links to...

- The Suffolk Family History Society who are able to give considerable guidance to their members, and who have access to many sources of Family History information.

- Two different surname indexes; one is specific to surnames found in the old Cosford Hundred (roughly twenty villages around Hadleigh) and the other covers the whole of the county of Suffolk.

- Several other government, hobby, and commercial genealogy web sites.

Note: we are not involved in any way with genealogical research but we do provide links to organizations that are.

In the context of the wider history of the County, a number of Suffolk Families have been the subject of
some 70 articles in our journal, the Suffolk Review, over the years. The names can be found under the heading people in the Review Articles page.
